Market Overview

Indian equity markets closed on a firm note in a choppy trade session on November 11, with the Nifty nearing the 25,700 mark.

Investor focus has now shifted to the upcoming domestic inflation print, where a sustained cooling in food prices is expected to drive further moderation — strengthening hopes of additional policy easing by the Reserve Bank of India.

Indices Performance

At the closing bell, the Sensex gained 335.97 points or 0.40% to settle at 83,871.32, while the Nifty rose 120.6 points or 0.47%, ending at 25,694.95.

Broader Market Movement

In the broader market, the Midcap index advanced 0.50%, while the Small-cap index ended marginally lower by 0.21%.

Sectoral Highlights

Across sectors, PSU Bank and Realty indices registered slight declines of 0.3% and 0.16%, respectively.
On the positive side, IT and Auto sectors gained around 1% each, while Metals rose 0.7%, reflecting broad-based strength across cyclical pockets.

Stock in Focus

Among individual stocks, IndiGo was one of the top performers, gaining around 3.55%.
