Maruti Suzuki Share Price

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), India's largest passenger carmaker, reported a standalone net profit of ₹3,878 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2024, a 48% increase from ₹2,624 crore in the same period last year. This profit exceeded the Street estimate of ₹3,046 crore. The Board also recommended a final dividend of ₹125 per share for FY24.

- For the full financial year, Maruti Suzuki's standalone profit after tax was ₹13,209 crore, a 64% increase from ₹8,049 crore in FY23.

- Domestic volumes were 5,05,291 units, up 12% YoY, accounting for 86.5% of total sales. Exports were 78,740 units, up 22% YoY, making up 13.5% of sales.

- Maruti's utility vehicles (UVs) segment saw a 71.5% YoY increase, while mini, midsize, and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) recorded negative growth.

- The company's margins improved due to lower material costs in the January-March quarter of FY24, down 190 basis points from the same period last year.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx, a premium compact crossover based on the Baleno, achieved 150,000 unit sales within 14 months of its April 2023 launch. Sold through the Nexa retail network, the Fronx reached 100,000 unit sales in 10 months and added another 50,000 units in the following four months. In April 2024, Maruti Suzuki dispatched 14,286 units of the Fronx, bringing total wholesales to 149,021 units.
