Sobha reported record quarterly sales of ₹3,656 crore in Q1 FY27, while revenue rose 47.6% and profit jumped more than threefold to ₹51 crore. The stock climbed over 7% after the results but later gave up most of its gains as investors booked profits.
Sobha shares were in focus on Tuesday after the real estate developer reported a strong set of earnings for the June quarter. The company posted its highest-ever quarterly sales, while net profit more than tripled from a year ago.
Investors welcomed the numbers at the start of the day pushing the stock over 7% higher during the session. However, the rally did not last. As the day progressed, investors booked profits, pulling the stock well below its intraday high.
The company reported total income of ₹1,330 crore for Q1 FY27, up 47.6% from ₹901 crore in the same quarter last year. Real estate revenue stood at ₹1,107 crore, registering a 60.4% year-on-year increase from ₹690 crore. EBITDA climbed 78.1% to ₹130 crore, compared with ₹73 crore a year earlier.
The biggest improvement came in profitability. Profit after tax jumped 264.3% year-on-year to ₹51 crore from ₹14 crore in Q1 FY26.
The company reported its highest-ever quarterly sales during the June quarter. It sold homes worth ₹3,656 crore, an increase of 76% compared with the same period last year. The new area sold also recorded healthy growth. It rose 62.5% year-on-year to 2.34 million sq. ft., compared with 1.44 million sq. ft. in Q1 FY26.
During the quarter, the company sold 1,432 homes and plots covering 2.34 million sq. ft. It also completed 671 homes across eight projects, adding 1.08 million sq. ft. of saleable area. Bengaluru remained the biggest contributor to sales, accounting for more than half of the total area sold during the quarter.
Following the results, the share price opened at ₹1,540.30, up 5.81% from the previous close of ₹1,455.70. The stock further gained and made an intraday high of ₹1,559.50. This was a gain of 7.13% over the previous close.
However, buying interest faded during the session. The stock saw profit booking and slipped to around ₹1,473.30, leaving it with a gain of just 1.21% over the previous close.
