ITC Hotels share price fell 5% even as the company reported a 36% YoY rise in Q1 FY27 net profit to ₹181.91 crore. Alongside its quarterly results, the company approved the acquisition of 100% equity in GHK Hospitality & Infrastructures Ltd.
ITC Hotels’ share price was trading at ₹174.92 as of 3:00 PM on July 16, 2026, down 5% for the day. The stock touched an intraday high of ₹186.00 and a low of ₹173.62. Trading volume stood at 91 lakh shares compared with the 30-day average volume of 43 lakh shares. The heightened activity came on a day that brought two significant developments: a set of quarterly results showing meaningful earnings growth and a board-approved acquisition that adds a new property to the company's owned asset portfolio.
ITC Hotels reported a consolidated net profit of ₹181.91 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with ₹133.71 crore in the same period last year, a rise of approximately 36% YoY. Revenue from operations for Q1 FY27 came in at ₹936.02 crore, against ₹815.54 crore in Q1 FY26, reflecting healthy growth across the business.
Total income for the quarter, including other income of ₹58.52 crore, stood at ₹994.54 crore.
The hotels segment remained the primary earnings driver, with segment revenue of ₹881.06 crore in Q1 FY27 against ₹800.57 crore a year earlier. Segment profit for hotels came in at ₹176.54 crore, up from ₹143.69 crore YoY, pointing to improved operating leverage as occupancies and room rates held firm.
The branded residences segment contributed revenue of ₹37.77 crore and swung to a profit of ₹13.22 crore during the quarter, compared with a marginal loss of ₹0.30 crore in Q1 FY26. While still a relatively small contributor to the overall mix, the segment's turnaround adds another layer of earnings diversification to the business.
Alongside the quarterly results, ITC Hotels' board approved the acquisition of 100% equity share capital of GHK Hospitality & Infrastructures Limited on July 16, 2026, through a Share Purchase and Share Subscription Agreement. The transaction is structured on a cash-free, debt-free basis at an enterprise value of ₹155 crore, subject to customary adjustments.
GHK Hospitality is a public limited company incorporated on May 10, 2007, with its registered office in Ahmedabad. It owns the Welcomhotel Ahmedabad, a 130-key property that ITC Hotels has been operating under an Operating Services Agreement. The acquisition effectively converts an existing management arrangement into full ownership, strengthening the company's owned asset base in a market with diversified year-round demand.
GHK's turnover over the last three audited years stood at ₹35.16 crore in FY26, ₹31.23 crore in FY25, and ₹25.62 crore in FY24, reflecting steady topline growth at the property level. The acquisition is expected to be completed within Q2 FY27.
ITC Hotels Limited is one of India's prominent hospitality companies, operating a portfolio that spans luxury, upscale and mid-market segments under brands including ITC Hotels, Welcomhotel and others. The entity represents the pure-play hospitality asset landscape carved out post the scheme of arrangement from parent conglomerate ITC Limited, maintaining an active premium footprint across major Indian metropolises and key leisure destinations.
ITC Hotels reported positive earnings growth for the quarter while also expanding its owned asset portfolio through the acquisition of a hotel property in Ahmedabad that it already operates. Alongside improved performance in its hotels and branded residences segments, the acquisition reflects the company's ongoing efforts to strengthen its portfolio in the post-demerger phase.
