Suzlon Energy Declines 10%; Here’s Why

Suzlon Energy share price was trading at ₹48.08 on July 28, 2026, down 10% for the day. Trading volume stood at 1,746.80 lakh shares compared with the 30-day average volume of 784 lakh shares, more than double the normal daily activity. The session came as the company reported its consolidated financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.

Revenue Grows but Margins Come Under Pressure

Consolidated revenue from operations for Q1 FY27 came in at ₹3,819 crore, up 23% from ₹3,117 crore in the same quarter last year. The performance of the company is attributed mainly to its renewable energy solutions segment, which brought in ₹3,174 crore in revenues, along with ₹632 crore from its RE asset management services segment.

The company’s EBITDA remained almost unchanged at ₹595 crore compared to ₹599 crore reported in the same period last year, while margins declined by 360 basis points to 15.6%. The company attributed the margin softness to temporary logistic disruptions arising from the geopolitical situation, certain strategic investments, and a change in scope and segment mix. PBT declined 15% YoY to ₹389 crore, while net profit after tax fell 6% YoY to ₹305 crore.

Sequentially, the numbers reflect a sharp seasonal shift, with Q4 FY26 being an exceptionally strong quarter that generated revenue of ₹5,468 crore and PAT of ₹1,114 crore, making the QoQ comparison steep by nature.
