NSE Indices has announced replacements across several Nifty indices following the amalgamation of Gujarat State Petronet into Gujarat Gas. In the Nifty Oil & Gas index, Aegis Vopak Terminals will replace Gujarat State Petronet. Shipping Corporation of India will be added to the Nifty India Infrastructure & Logistics index. The changes will take effect from May 12, 2026.
NSE Indices Limited has announced a series of replacements across several Nifty indices after the Index Maintenance Sub Committee (Equity) decided to make changes on account of the scheme of amalgamation of Gujarat State Petronet Ltd. into Gujarat Gas Ltd. The changes will become effective from May 12, 2026, after the close of trade on May 11, 2026.
Gujarat State Petronet Ltd. will be excluded from several indices following the announced restructuring. The company will move out of the Nifty 500, Nifty Smallcap 250, Nifty MidSmallcap 400, Nifty Total Market, Nifty Smallcap 500, Nifty Energy, Nifty Oil & Gas, Nifty India Infrastructure & Logistics, Nifty500 Multicap Infrastructure 50:30:20, Nifty Smallcap250 Quality 50, Nifty500 Flexicap Quality 30 and Nifty500 Shariah indices.
The replacement exercise is linked to the amalgamation of Gujarat State Petronet Ltd. into Gujarat Gas Ltd., as stated in the NSE Indices press release.
CIE Automotive India Ltd. will be included in the Nifty 500, replacing Gujarat State Petronet Ltd. The same replacement will also apply to the Nifty500 Equal Weight, Nifty500 Multicap 50:25:25 and Nifty500 LargeMidSmall Equal Cap Weighted indices.
The company will also enter the Nifty Smallcap 250 and Nifty MidSmallcap 400 indices. In the Nifty MidSmallcap 400, the replacement will also be applicable to the Nifty MidSmallcap400 50:50 index.
Ratnamani Metals & Tubes Ltd. will be included in the Nifty Total Market index, replacing Gujarat State Petronet Ltd.
The company will also be added to the Nifty Microcap 250 index. In this index, CIE Automotive India Ltd. will be excluded, while Ratnamani Metals & Tubes Ltd. will be included.
The reshuffle also includes changes across sectoral and thematic indices. Nava Ltd. will be included in the Nifty Energy index in place of Gujarat State Petronet Ltd.
In the Nifty Oil & Gas index, Aegis Vopak Terminals Ltd. will replace Gujarat State Petronet Ltd. Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. will be added to the Nifty India Infrastructure & Logistics index.
Craftsman Automation Ltd. will be included in the Nifty500 Multicap Infrastructure 50:30:20 index, while NATCO Pharma Ltd. will enter the Nifty Smallcap250 Quality 50 index.
Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care Ltd. will be included in the Nifty Smallcap 500 index, replacing Gujarat State Petronet Ltd.
Timken India Ltd. will be added to the Nifty500 Flexicap Quality 30 index. Meanwhile, Gujarat State Petronet Ltd. will be excluded from the Nifty500 Shariah index, with no new inclusion being made in that index.
