NSE has announced that Ather Energy Ltd, Bank of Maharashtra and Sagility Ltd will be added to the Futures & Options segment from August 26, 2026, subject to the required eligibility conditions. The exchange will release details such as market lot sizes and strike prices on August 25, a day before trading begins.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) on July 23, 2026 announced that it will add three new stocks to its Futures & Options (F&O) segment. The process has been carried out following SEBI's requirements for the selection of stocks. This measure will become operational from August 26, 2026, subject to the stocks meeting the required eligibility criteria under the August 2026 quarter sigma computation cycle.
The three stocks selected are:
Ather Energy Ltd
Bank of Maharashtra
Sagility Ltd
Although NSE has confirmed the inclusion of these stocks in the F&O segment, it will announce a few trading-related details closer to the launch date.
The exchange said it will issue a separate circular on August 25, 2026, mentioning the market lot size and strike price scheme for the new contracts. These details will become effective when trading begins on August 26.
NSE also said that the quantity freeze limits for these contracts will be available in the contract files released before trading starts. Trading members have been asked to update their trading systems with the latest contract files before the contracts go live.
Being listed under the F&O category is normally considered positive for the business. This is because it widens the possibilities for the stock to be traded in the market. As a consequence, the stock may see an increase in trading volumes and liquidity. Nevertheless, such activity will also increase the volatility of the stock in the short term due to the increased use of futures and options.
