    US markets closed at record highs on Tuesday:

    S&P 500 rose 0.6%

    Nasdaq 100 gained 0.7%

    Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 1% (484 points) to close at a historic 49,462.08, marking the first time above 49,000

    Momentum in AI stocks helped offset weakness in energy shares. Investors are also closely watching the U.S. December jobs report due Friday, which will be a key test for the labor market after recent cooling signals.

    Several Federal Reserve members are scheduled to share their views this week, potentially offering insights on rate cuts ahead of the January 30–31 meeting.
