Promoter, FII & DII Buying in 3 Large-Cap Stocks

The shareholding pattern of a company often reveals what different classes of investors think about its future. While quarterly results and management commentary attract immediate attention, changes in promoter, foreign institutional investor (FII) and domestic institutional investor (DII) holdings can also provide useful insights.

Promoters usually know their business better than anyone else. FIIs bring a global angle to investing, whereas DIIs like mutual funds and insurance companies keep a keen eye on the long-term investment prospects. When all three investors start buying more shares in a particular company at once, it definitely draws the interest of retail investors.
