BEL Wins ₹2,210 Crore IAF EW Suite Order, Boosting Indigenous Defence

    Synopsis:

Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has secured a ₹2,210 crore order for Electronic Warfare suites for Mi-17V5 helicopters, enhancing IAF defence capability. BEL’s total FY order intake now stands at ₹2,803 crore, impacting BEL share price movements.

Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL), a leading Navratna defence PSU, has clinched a major ₹2,210 crore contract from the Ministry of Defence. This contract involves the supply of advanced Electronic Warfare (EW) suites for the Indian Air Force’s Mi-17V5 helicopters. Designed and developed indigenously by DRDO’s Centre for Airborne Systems (CABS) and CASDIC, the EW suite will be manufactured entirely by BEL, supporting India's focus on Atmanirbhar Bharat in defence production.

The EW suite includes critical components such as Radar Warning Receiver (RWR), Missile Approach Warning System (MAWS), and Counter Measure Dispensing System (CMDS). These are designed to protect helicopters from radar and missile threats in combat zones, improving operational efficiency and mission survivability for the Indian Air Force.

BEL’s involvement in the manufacturing process underscores its role in advancing in-house defence technologies. The deal not only strengthens national security capabilities but also adds to BEL’s revenue pipeline, contributing to positive investor sentiment and fluctuations in the BEL share price.
