Adani Green Energy and Adani Power will supply 6,600 MW of hybrid power to Maharashtra's DISCOM. AGEL’s 5 GW solar award is the most significant globally since 2020, while APL's thermal power deal represents a major private sector capacity award in India in recent years.
Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) and Adani Power Limited (APL), both part of the Adani Group, announced a 6,600 MW power supply agreement with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). This agreement, consisting of 5 GW of solar power and 1,496 MW of thermal power, makes it a significant hybrid power deal in recent history.
The Adani power share price and Adani green share price has seen significant jump on September 16, 2024.
AGEL will supply 5 GW of solar energy from a major renewable energy park in Gujarat. Meanwhile, APL, a leading private thermal power producer in India, will supply thermal power from its new 1,600 MW ultra-supercritical project.
The unified tariff for this contract is significantly lower than last year's average procurement cost, ensuring a competitive edge. This development bolsters AGEL and APL's leadership in India's power sector, offering a strategic mix of renewable and thermal power to meet Maharashtra's growing energy needs.
As of 11:30 AM, Adani Green share price is up 6.42% and is currently trending at Rs. 1,903.00. Adani Power share price is up by 6.31%, currently trending at Rs. 673.45.
