Benchmark Indices Recover After Four-Day Slide

Indian benchmark indices ended the day on a positive note, reclaiming the 26,000 mark and breaking a 4-session losing streak. Trade remained volatile as investors stayed cautious ahead of the Reserve Bank of India policy announcement.

  • The Sensex rose 158.51 points, or 0.19 percent, to 85,265.32.

  • The Nifty gained 47.75 points, or 0.18 percent, to 26,033.75.

Broader markets were largely flat, with both Midcap and Small-cap indices ending the session unchanged.
