The propulsion system relies on Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries and a drive which works off a DC chopper system. Diesel engines have engines that continuously idles. This will only operate when needed. You will enjoy the efficiency as it provides a more efficient use of fuel as to avoid idling loss, allowing for zero emissions at the tailpipe.
Feature | Details |
Battery Technology | Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) |
Drive Type | DC chopper-based, operates only when required |
Indigenous Components | VCU, driver display, sensors, controllers, chopper |
Traction Motor Current | 800A peak current |
Safety & Monitoring | Digital driver display, CCTV/DVR, Remote Monitoring System (RMS) |
The propulsion system combines multiple new 'firsts' in railway technology. It combines high voltage batteries and choppers, CAN-based Vehicle Control Units, and fibre-optic EMI immune signal transmission. This offers you greater reliability, more control and more adaptability when compared to diesel systems.
The system furthers India’s railway electrification target by 2030 direct on and because it is nearly all indigenous it enhances self-reliance in key railway technology. If you track India’s net-zero objectives - this advance is a clear move which supplements the higher-level sustainability initiative.
At the railway sector, the propulsion system can assist with costs and operational efficiency. This will convert existing diesel locomotives to zero-emission in a way that does not require different builds. For you, this emphasizes a path of cost mitigation, as well as obligations toward the environment.
On September 5, 2025, the Concord Control Systems share price closed at ₹857.90 per share on the BSE at 15:30 PM IST. As an investor, you can view the stock in the context of the company's role in developing indigenous railway technologies and engaging with India's electrification roadmap.
By introducing the first 100% indigenous zero-emission propulsion for diesel locomotives, Concord Control Systems has provided a platform for sustainable railway operations. For you, this development provides enhanced context for understanding technology, enabling efficiency and sustainability in the transport sector.
