Effect of Daylight Saving Time

Daylight saving time (DST) is followed in the US during the summers when the days are longer than usual. DST starts on the second Sunday of March and goes on until the first Sunday of November. As per this practice, the clock time is moved one hour later.

Subsequently, the timings of the US stock markets as per IST also change. When the US follows DST, Nasdaq and NYSE opening time shifts from 7 PM IST to 8 PM IST and closing time shifts from 1:30 AM IST to 2:30 AM IST.

The following table demonstrates a change in the opening and closing time of NYSE and Nasdaq based on Daylight Saving Time.
