    Strengths of Sterlite Electric Limited

    1. Established Presence in Power T&D Manufacturing

The company was incorporated in 2015 and manufactures conductors, power cables and OPGW and has built a meaningful position in India’s power transmission and distribution equipment market. In FY2025, it held a 15% share of India’s power conductors market by value and a 25-28% share in the high-ampacity and AL59 conductor segment.

    2. Diversified Product Portfolio

The company operates across overhead conductors, power cables, OPGW, and MSI services. This product and service mix allows it to serve multiple customer categories, including utilities, renewable energy developers, transmission developers, metro projects, and industrial clients.

    3. Technology-Driven Product Capabilities

The company manufactures advanced conductors, including ACCC and GAP type conductors, which are used in technically demanding applications. These products can support grid upgrades, high-capacity transmission, and projects where standard conductors may not be suitable.

    4. Global Export Presence

Sterlite Electric has served customers in over 70 countries. This provides revenue diversification beyond the domestic market and gives the company exposure to international demand for power transmission and distribution equipment.

    5. Significant Reduction in Borrowings

Total borrowings reduced from ₹4,611.45 crore in FY2023 to ₹327.22 crore in FY2025. Lower borrowings can reduce finance cost pressure and support balance sheet strength.

    Risks Associated with the Business

    Customer Concentration

The company derives a significant portion of revenue from its top customers. According to the DRHP, the top 10 customers accounted for 46.00% of revenue from operations in FY2025. Loss of business from key customers or delays in their orders may affect revenue and profitability.

    Supplier Concentration

The company depends on a few suppliers for its primary raw materials. The top 10 suppliers accounted for 83.22% of total cost of materials in FY2025. Any disruption in supply or increase in raw material prices may affect production, margins, and business performance.

    Dependence on Overhead Conductors

Overhead conductors remain the largest revenue segment for the company. Any slowdown in transmission line construction, change in demand for conductors, or pricing pressure in this segment may affect business performance.

    Capital Expenditure Execution

The company proposes to use part of the net proceeds for capital expenditure requirements at its Vadodara facility. Timely procurement, commissioning, and utilisation of the plant, machinery, and equipment will be important for the expected benefits to materialise.

    Export Market Risk

The company serves customers across international markets. Export sales may be affected by currency fluctuations, trade policy changes, geopolitical developments, and changes in global demand.

    Competition Risk

The power transmission and distribution equipment market includes established players in conductors, cables, OPGW, and related solutions. Intense competition may affect pricing, margins, and market share.

    Key Things Investors May Consider

Before evaluating the IPO, investors may consider the following factors:

    • The company’s four-segment product and services model

    • Revenue contribution from overhead conductors, power cables, OPGW, and MSI services

    • Market share in India’s power conductors segment

    • Revenue, profitability, borrowings, and net worth trends over recent years

    • Customer and supplier concentration risks

    • Capital expenditure plans for the Vadodara facility

    • Domestic and export revenue mix

    • Power transmission and distribution sector outlook

    • Competitive position relative to other cable and conductor manufacturers
