What is the process to transfer SGB from CDSL to NDSL?

To transfer Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBs) from CDSL to NSDL using your Bajaj Broking account, please follow these simple steps:

  1. Submit a Demat request to the NSDL Target DP and a Remat request to the CDSL DP (Bajaj Broking) simultaneously.
  2. Submit the Remat form, along with ID and address proofs, to Bajaj Broking. Include the number of SGB units and series in the form.
  3. Send the Demat request form to the NSDL DP, along with:
    • Value-Free Transfer letter

    • Statement of Holding of the Account (stamped and signed by an authorised person at Bajaj Broking to ensure you hold the requisite SGB units)

  4. The NSDL DP will receive, process, and physically forward the documents to NSDL. Then, CDSL and NSDL will complete the transfer of the units.

The documents required for the rematerialization of SGB are:

  • Rematerialization request form for each SGB series/ISIN

  • Self-attested PAN

  • Value-free transfer letter for each SGB series/ISIN

  • NSDL Demat account CMR with DP seal and signature

To ensure a seamless process, carefully follow the instructions provided by both depositories and work closely with Bajaj Broking throughout the transfer.
