The rate cut decision, coupled with hawkish projections for 2025, unnerved investors. The Dow Jones dropped by 1123.03 points (2.58%) to close at 42,326.87, marking its worst streak since 1974. Nasdaq and S&P 500 followed suit, falling by 3.56% and 2.95%, respectively. The dollar surged to a two-year high, and treasury yields spiked, reflecting heightened caution.
