TRADE SETUP FOR JUl 03

  1. Nifty Short-Term Outlook:

    • The index formed a bearish candle signaling profit booking for the third session as it failed to sustain at higher levels and gave up some of its recent gains.

    • The index tested the immediate support area of 25,400 on Wednesday session. Going ahead, index holding above 25,400 on a closing basis will lead to a pullback towards 25,900-26,000 levels in the coming sessions. However, failure to do so may lead to a healthy retracement or consolidation, with the index likely moving within the broader 25,200–25,700 range.

    • Key positional support lies at 25,200–25,100 levels being the confluence of the 20 days EMA and the upper boundary of the recent consolidation breakout area (25,200-24,500), which is expected to act as a support level, showcasing change of polarity, where previous resistance turns into support.

  2. Intraday Levels:

    • Nifty: Intraday resistance is at 25,530, followed by 25,610 levels. Conversely, downside support is located at 25,370, followed by 25,250.

    • Bank Nifty: Intraday resistance is positioned at 57,240, followed by 57,500, while downside support is found at 56,720, followed by 56,400.

Derivative Market Analysis

  1. Nifty:

    • Call writing is visible across strikes from 25,400 to 26,000, suggesting limited upside and multiple resistance levels.

    • Put unwinding at the 25,500 strike and call writers shifting to lower strikes indicate a cautious outlook. If the price holds below 25,500, a further downside toward the 25,200 and 25,000 levels is likely.

    • A short covering rally is possible if Nifty surpasses and sustains above 25,600; until then, the view remains neutral to corrective.

    • The max pain level for the weekly expiry stands at the 25,450 strike.

    • The Nifty put-call ratio has declined by 0.10 and is now positioned at 0.78.

  2. Bank Nifty:

    • Open interest concentration at the 56,000 strike for both calls and puts suggests a straddle formation.

    • Immediate support is noted at the 57,000 strike, where both call and put writers are active. A breach below 57,000 could trigger a corrective move.

    • Fresh call writing is observed across strikes from 57,000 to 57,500, indicating dominance of call writers and multiple resistance levels.

    • As per the option chain, the deciding range for Bank Nifty is between 57,000 and 57,500. A breakout on either side may trigger a directional move.

    • The Bank Nifty put-call ratio has dropped by 0.13 and now stands at 1.02.
