India Market Outlook

  1. Market in Previous Session:

    • Indian equities extended their losing streak for the fourth straight session on July 14th , with the Nifty breaching the 25,100 mark, reflecting sustained selling pressure and weak market breadth.

    • At close, the Sensex was down 247.01 points or 0.30 percent at 82,253.46, and the Nifty was down 67.55 points or 0.27 percent at 25,082.30.

TRADE SETUP FOR JUL 15

  1. Nifty Short-Term Outlook:

    • The index formed a bearish candle with a long lower shadow, marking the fourth straight session of decline with lower highs and lower lows. The long shadow suggests buyers are stepping in near the key 25,000 level.

    • Interestingly, the index has taken 11 sessions to retrace just 50% of the previous 11-session rally from 24,473 to 25,669 — indicating the pullback remains shallow and healthy.

    • Nifty is now near the important support zone of 24,900–25,100. We expect some consolidation here before a likely rebound towards 25,500–25,600 in the coming sessions.

    • We see this dip as a buying opportunity, though a decisive break below 24,900 may pause the short-term uptrend.

  2. Intraday Levels:

    • Nifty: Intraday resistance is at 25,150, followed by 25,260 levels. Conversely, downside support is located at 25,000, followed by 24,920.

    • Bank Nifty: Intraday resistance is positioned at 56,970, followed by 57,230, while downside support is found at 56,510, followed by 56,300.

Derivative Market Analysis

  1. Nifty:

    • Nifty remains under pressure as bearish cues dominate both price action and derivatives data. The highest call open interest (OI) is seen at 25,500, followed by 26,000, indicating strong resistance zones ahead. On the downside, the highest put OI is placed at 25,000, followed by 24,000, offering some support. In the previous session, aggressive call writing between 25,100–25,800 and put unwinding between 25,150–25,500 clearly signaled weakening bullish strength.

    • The 25,300 level remains a crucial resistance; a sustained move above it could lead to a test of 25,500, but failure to reclaim this level may keep the index under pressure. FIIs unwound 251 long contracts while adding 17,061 fresh shorts in index futures, dragging the long-to-short ratio down to 0.22, a strong bearish indicator. The put-call ratio (PCR) has also dropped to 0.72, reinforcing the prevailing negative sentiment.

  2. Bank Nifty:

    • Bank Nifty is facing selling pressure at higher levels, with the highest call and put OI positioned at 56,000, followed by 57,000, making these critical pivot levels in the days ahead. In the previous session, significant call writing was observed at 58,000, 59,000, and 59,500, pointing to multiple layers of overhead resistance.

    • On the downside, 56,500 is now the key support level to watch. A break below this could open the door to 56,000, while on the upside, 57,500 continues to act as a major resistance. The broader expected range for Bank Nifty remains 56,500–57,500. The put-call ratio stands at 0.86, indicating a slightly bearish bias.
