Benchmark indices ended the day on a strong note, extending their winning streak to the sixth consecutive session. This positive momentum was primarily driven by broad-based buying and strong foreign institutional inflows.
Sensex rose by 187.09 points, or 0.24%, to close at 79,595.59.
Nifty 50 gained 41.70 points, or 0.17%, ending at 24,167.25.

The market’s strength was fueled by impressive gains across most sectors, with notable outperformance from
Nifty Realty
Nifty FMCG
Nifty Pharma
Bank Nifty
However, the Nifty IT index stood out as the sole underperformer in an otherwise buoyant market, unable to keep pace with the broader strength.

Bank Nifty hit a new milestone, closing at 55,961, showcasing the sector’s robust momentum. Despite the overall positive sentiment, the underperformance of Nifty IT acted as a drag on the index.

Among individual stocks, ITC emerged as one of the top performers, gaining 2.36% on the back of strength in the FMCG sector.
On the flip side, IndusInd Bank was the biggest laggard of the day, slipping 4.79% despite the general strength in the banking sector.
