IOC’s Q1 FY25-26 performance was supported by stable core refining operations and robust contributions from allied segments:
Petroleum Products: Revenue stood at ₹2,08,356.50 crore, slightly above ₹2,06,442.54 crore in Q1 FY24. Segment profit rose sharply to ₹9,088.66 crore from ₹5,139.81 crore YoY, reflecting stronger refining margins.
Petrochemicals: Revenue increased to ₹6,764.10 crore from ₹6,296.46 crore YoY. The segment posted a small loss of ₹1.02 crore compared to a profit of ₹11.93 crore in the same period last year.
Gas: Revenue rose to ₹10,309.28 crore from ₹10,237.75 crore YoY, with segment profit at ₹50.41 crore vs ₹654.73 crore in Q1 FY24.
Other Business Activities: Revenue was ₹1,194.61 crore, down from ₹1,717.59 crore YoY, with a loss of ₹10.61 crore vs a profit of ₹125.55 crore last year.
IOC’s earnings beat sector averages for the quarter, driven by healthy refining spreads and effective cost controls. While revenue remained flat YoY, profitability gains significantly outpaced the oil & gas industry trend, which saw mid-to-high single-digit PAT growth.
The company attributed its strong bottom-line growth to improved refining margins, higher product sales, and cost optimization initiatives. Management reiterated its commitment to expanding petrochemicals capacity, enhancing gas marketing infrastructure, and investing in cleaner energy solutions to sustain long-term growth.
