Sector Expectations for GAIL Q1 Results FY25-26

The sector had anticipated stable results from GAIL, primarily driven by resilient gas demand from fertilisers and CGD sectors, along with steady petrochemical and LPG sales. While the gas marketing and transmission volumes showed marginal declines, GAIL’s performance remained in line with sectoral expectations.

The company's efforts in balancing imported and domestic gas sources ensured continued service to key industries. However, slightly muted demand from the fertiliser and CGD sectors may have impacted volumes in the short term.

Management Commentary

Shri Sandeep Kumar Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director, GAIL, said that the Company has incurred a Capex of ~ ₹3,176 crore during the current quarter, mainly on Pipelines, Petrochemicals, Equity contribution to JVs, etc.

Shri Gupta also informed that GAIL has got PNGRB’s authorization for capacity expansion of Jamnagar-Loni LPG pipeline from 3.25 MMTPA to 6.5 MMTPA, involving an estimated capex of ₹5,000 Crores & is expected to be completed within 3 Years. This project will cut down on CO₂ emissions significantly & reduce road mishaps and leaks.
