Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies Pvt Ltd (ARACT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Ltd (ARE&M), announced a significant licensing agreement with GIB EnergyX Slovakia, a subsidiary of Gotion High-Tech Co Ltd.

The agreement involves licensing Gotion's lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology for lithium-ion cells to ARACT, enabling the Indian company to manufacture advanced LFP cells in both cylindrical and prismatic form factors.

Agreement Details

The licensing agreement offers ARACT access to crucial cell technology intellectual property (IP). It also includes support for establishing gigafactory facilities adhering to the latest generation process technologies.

Furthermore, the agreement facilitates integration with Gotion's global supply chain network for essential battery materials and provides technical support for customer solution deployment.

Strategic Vision and Market Potential

Jayadev Galla, Chairman and Managing Director of ARE&M, emphasised India’s potential as one of the fastest-growing EV markets. He highlighted that the combination of Gotion's globally proven technology and Amara Raja's three decades of expertise in the energy and mobility space would be a winning formula.
