- Net Profit: IRCTC reported a 2% increase in consolidated net profit, reaching ₹284 crore, up from ₹279 crore in the same period last year.
- Revenue Growth: Revenue from operations rose by 19%, growing to ₹1,155 crore in the March quarter from ₹965 crore in the previous year.
- Dividend Recommendation: The PSU board recommended a final dividend of ₹4 per share (200% of the paid-up share capital with a face value of ₹2 each) for FY24, pending shareholder approval.
In addition to the final dividend, the board had already declared and paid an interim dividend of ₹2.50 per share (125% of the paid-up share capital) in November 2023.
The Railway Board has allowed IRCTC to issue long-term tenders for up to seven years, contingent on satisfactory performance in the initial five years, by clustering trains. However, the ministry advised against the proposed ten-year tenders (5+5 years) for train catering.
This decision aims to ensure smooth implementation of the Yatri Seva Anubandh (YSA) policy, which enhances onboard services for railway passengers.
In an official circular, the Rail Ministry amended its Catering Policy 2017 to permit IRCTC to undertake seven-year tenders. Additionally, IRCTC announced it began commercial production of Neer packaged drinking water on a PPP model in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on November 17. The plant's capacity is 72,000 litres per day, increasing IRCTC's total Rail Neer water capacity to 16.96 lakh litres per day.
