As quoted in the press release from RVNL (NSE Exchange filings), the company disclosed on September 10 that it has been found L1 by West Central Railway in a large contract. The project is worth ₹169.49 crore including tax, and will be executed in Bhopal division.

The contract covers the design, modification, procurement, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 220/132kV/2x25kV Scott-connected traction substation and switching posts with AT and SCADA linkage for the BINA and RTA sections of the Bhopal Division. The period of execution is fixed at 540 days.

For Q1 FY26, RVNL's revenue was ₹3,908 crore, down 4.1% year-on-year. EBITDA fell 71%, from ₹179 crore to ₹52 crore, while net profit was also 40% down at ₹134 crore compared to ₹224 crore in Q1 last year. There was a substantial decrease in margins from 4.5% to 1.4%.
On a sequential basis they down 35% from the March quarter, with profitability 71% down, and profitability deteriorated further as EBITDA on a quarter-on-quarter basis was nearly 90% down, and EBITDA margin deterioration all as well.
