Berger Paints operates in a single primary segment: Paints and Allied Products. However, performance insights include:
Decorative Paints: Continued to gain market share despite early monsoon disruptions.
Industrial Coatings: Automotive division led growth, both in terms of revenue and profitability.
Construction Chemicals & Waterproofing: Showed robust momentum; a key focus area for the company.
Subsidiaries like Berger Nepal, Berger Becker Coatings, and Berger Rock Paints posted strong value and profit growth, while STP Ltd. and SBL Specialty Coatings showed flat trends.
Commenting on the quarterly results, Abhijit Roy, Managing Director & CEO of Berger Paints India Limited. "This quarter saw sequential improvements in demand, with month-on-month improvements being observed. The early onset of the monsoon played spoilsport this quarter. We were still able to deliver value growth higher than the listed industry players and continued to improve our market share. The volume value gap this quarter is 3.6% as compared to 7% for the last fiscal. Profitability for the quarter was healthy delivering improvements both on QoQ and YoY basis in spite of increased competitive intensity.”
